MAD Studio Sunday: Have a Seat
Join MAD's professional Artist Educators for Studio Sundays, MAD's material- and process-rich hands-on workshops that focus on the physicality of "making" and the sensual and tactile qualities of materials.
Expand your ideas of sculpture, furniture and site-specific art while designing a prototype for a bench you propose for MAD's new home at 2 Columbus Circle. Discussions regarding design, structure, and comfort will complement hands-on opportunities for shaping parts, creating joints and assembling final design concepts. This workshop will include drawing, model building and critique as we will explore sculptural forms both abstract and functional.
